VEDIC MEDITATION WAS MY GAME CHANGER.
I spent six years teaching math and literacy before I was inspired to share this technique with others. As an experienced educator, helping people reach their full potential has always been my mission. After finding meditation, I quickly realized it's the most powerful tool I can offer and the rest is history. My intensive studies in New York City and India have prepared me to teach Vedic knowledge in a simple yet comprehensive way.
WHY DO I MEDITATE?
THE SHORT VERSION: I used to sweat the small stuff. Everything stressed me out, I was overworked, and frankly, I didn't like myself very much. I knew something was missing, but I didn't know how to change. Then I learned to meditate and change came naturally. A feeling of stability replaced the stress and self-loathing. I finally stopped trying so hard, and the results were surprising: I was doing less and accomplishing more. I'm still not perfect, but I no longer strive to be. Instead, I'm unconditionally happy, and I enjoy life to a degree I never thought possible.
WHY DO I MEDITATE?
THE LONG VERSION: My life always looked great on the outside, but on the inside I felt anxious, self-conscious, and overwhelmed. My views of myself and the world were dictated by what other people thought. The only thing holding me back was myself, but I felt paralyzed... so I kept doing my best while continuing to struggle with confidence, clarity, and self-love. I knew I wasn't living my fullest potential, but accessing it felt impossible.
While teaching at a Harlem charter school, my days were long, demanding, and turbulent. My students' behavior was volatile, so I had to prioritize their emotional needs over academics despite intense pressure to boost test scores. I was driven to make a difference, but I knew my work wouldn't be sustainable without a tool for staying calm in the chaos. Then I learned Vedic Meditation and everything shifted. I gained the capacity to think clearly under pressure, lead with composure, and handle a demanding workload in a burnout-heavy environment. As a result, my students were happier and more productive, and I finally had the energy to collaborate meaningfully with my colleagues, many of whom began seeking my support in optimizing their own sense of calm.
I learned meditation to survive at work, but the benefits changed my whole life.
For over a decade I had sleeping issues, chronic sinus infections, and hormonal imbalances. With a regular meditation practice, these problems disappeared and haven't come back.
Meditation helps me witness my emotions and watch them pass, rather than let them control me. I've become happier, friendlier, and more comfortable in every situation life brings. As a result, my relationships are thriving and my networks continue to expand, both personally and professionally.
Since learning Vedic Meditation, I've gained many supportive qualities and let go of irrelevant ones:
- I'm less worry-prone, stressed, and tense.
- I’m more perceptive, intuitive, and confident.
- Where I used to panic or freeze, I'm able to execute with ease.
- My physical health is better than ever.
As I kept meditating and the benefits continued to unfold, it became clear that I had to share this technique with others. In 2016, I left my job in the classroom and completed a 2,000-hour teacher training program with master teacher Ben Turshen.
Vedic Meditation is the most powerful tool I've found for dissolving stress and optimizing performance.
